At the development and environment meeting on October 6, councillors will formalise the camping ground along with the planned improvements to facilities and management of the site.
Although the land around Danjera Dam has been used for camping since the dam's construction in 1971, without the land being recognised as a camping ground it limits the improvements council can make.

The proposed improvements have been outlined in the Danjera Dam Camping Future Direction report, which include for all camping on-site to be concentrated to one main campground, provide a day visitors parking area with improvements to pathways, amenities and picnic facilities.
Council also wants to limit the number of camping areas to 41 sites, construct a caretakers office and a refuge area to house 160 people during a bushfire.
In 2018, then director of Shoalhaven Water Carmel Krogh warned councillors of risk-taking behaviour happening at the campsite, located on council-owned land.
