SHOALHAVEN suffered their fourth Illawarra Rugby loss of the season on Saturday, going down 17-14 to Tech Waratahs.
At Saunders Oval, tries by Mark Brandon and Blake Gurney weren't enough to overcome the hosts - who had Mislelli Sinoti, Mawutu Wuatai and Lachlan Hurry cross for five-pointers.
In the round eight fixture, Mick Burton added one kick for Tech Tahs while Harri Hibbs landed two conversions for the visitors.
Elsewhere in first grade, leaders Avondale secured the Illawarra Rugby title by edging Campbelltown 24-22, Shamrocks smashed Kiama 47-5 and Vikings moved into third with a 28-21 win against Camden.
In second grade, Shoals lost 24-7 to University.
In the final round of the season, Shoals, who have a 4-4 record, will attempt to seal a top-three finish on the ladder when they travel to Kiama on Saturday.
