It seems that if you walk way from your mobile phone, wallet or computer, there is a chance that when you walk back, the items may not be there.
Property just does not walk away it is taken, usually by a crook.
If you provide the opportunity, a crook will take the chance.
If your wallet is stolen, think of the dramas that will soon arise.
Cancelling credit cards, requesting new cards such as Medicare, drivers licence, visa cards, pension cards, and all the vouchers and other personal cards that are in your now stolen wallet.
What a chore!
Now think of the police and the subsequent investigation.
You will have to make a report to the police in relation to the stealing.
Police will attend and obtain any evidence that may be at the crime scene such as fingerprints and DNA.
You will receive an event number.
Police will continue the investigation following up on any fingerprint, DNA or CCTV results.
While you are cancelling cards and getting new ones, you find out that your stolen credit card was used at the local shop to purchase $500 worth of goods in six transactions.
You advise police and make a statement.

If you think that it is a lot of work that you and police must do in this scenario, you are right.
