And no team has more momentum right now than Alex Dicker's Shoalhaven United Bears.
"The boys went out [against Huskisson] with a positive and committed mindset," Dicker said.
"We knew we would have to be at our best to beat last year's champions.
"Every player put in maximum effort and that creates good fortune.
"Things just went our way and we took our chances in an otherwise even game."
Now the red-hot Bears will look to claim their third big scalp in as many weeks on Saturday when they again lock horns with the Dragons.
"If we go out with that same relaxed mindset and put in 110 per cent, we are a dangerous side for anyone - even this year's minor premiers," Dicker said.
"Credit to the Basin, they had the competition won before the last round, so they were able to rest a few key players against us in the last round.
"We expect those players will be back in and the game will be much tougher."
If the black and reds do make it three wins on the trot and win at Ison Park on Saturday, they will qualify for their first grand final since 2015 - with Bomaderry awaiting the winner.
"There is no pressure on us - every extra game is a bonus," Dicker said.
"We are just enjoying the ride and can't wait for Saturday."
The busy day at South Nowra will kick-off at 11am with the Illaroo and Bomaderry third grade fixture, followed Huskisson and Basin at 1pm (reserve grade) and the Blackmore Bolden Shield match at 3pm.
