The big man has signed a one-year deal for what will be his sixth season in the Illawarra.
Ogilvy will play for a club in a totally different position to last summer, with new owners, a new name, new coach and overhauled roster.
"I'm very excited to have re-signed with the Hawks," Ogilvy said.
"The staff have put a great group together which I know will be very competitive.

"Wollongong has been my home for the past five years, so signing with the Hawks was my first priority.
"Obviously, this season may look different but I'm excited for what it will bring."
Uncertainty continues to surround the nature of the upcoming NBL season, with reports last week suggesting the league is considering playing games in a central hub.
Wollongong is considered a contender to host games.
Once the delayed competition does commence, the Hawks will boast a squad featuring Deng Adel, Cameron Bairstow and Next Stars recruit Justinian Jessup.
New coach Brian Goorjian said Ogilvy will add depth and experience to the group.
"We are very excited to get AJ back to the Hawks," Goorjian said.
"He gives us that interior target, is a tremendous rebounder and is a very important piece to complete our roster.
"Also, AJ is a person well respected by our playing group and with a young team, he will be an integral part of team leadership where his experience will be highly valued."
