Ivan Katusa's fourth goal of the season gave the Panthers a 1-nil lead at half-time - an advantage they until late in the second half.

Just when it appeared Daniel Todeschini's troops were going to inflict the Dragons their first loss of the season, the host kicked it up a gear.

Luke Reid equalised before goals from Benjamin Cubbo and Tyrone Nye-Williams - all in the final 15 minutes - secured Craig Holden's side their seven victory in 2020.

"We are absolutely over the moon to have claimed the competition championship," Basin's coaching director Paul Cubbo, who's highlighted the brilliant work of coach Craig Holden, said.

"As a club, we've been working towards this for the past five seasons, gradually getting better, smarter and sharper each year - our reserve grade are in contention for the minor premiership after finishing dead-last a couple of seasons ago.

"Then last year, our first and second grade men's teams made the semi-finals but you can see the nerves got the better of them on the day.

"The best thing to come from that is all the boys have toughened up following that disappointment, which you can see in their week-to-week play.

"The boys, who are predominantly Basin juniors, have made our home ground a fortress, as we want to be known as a club that plays good, hard football.

"As happy as we are about our current standing, the work isn't done and we are determined to finish it off over the next month."

The win moves the red and whites up onto 22 points, four clear of second-placed Bomaderry heading into the final round of the Blackmore Bolden Shield regular season.

The latter were forced to dig deep in Saturday's clash at Vic Zealand Oval, walking away with a tight 1-nil win against Shoalhaven Heads-Berry.

A Ben Seyffer goal in the 47^th minute proved the difference for the Tigers.

Sitting in third is Huskisson-Vincentia, who smashed Callala 5-1 at Emmett Street Oval.

Gary Masterson opened the scoring in the eighth minute before Lewis Archibald doubled the advantage two minutes later.

The latter added his second in the 33^rd minute, to give Rob Hawker's men a 3-nil lead at the break.

That advantage quickly grew thanks to Jordan Godley's efforts less than a minute after the resumption.

Seamus Healy pulled one back for the Brumbies in the 66^th minute before Brendan Hiriart iced the match for the visitors.

Milton's loss opens the door for Sussex Inlet to sneak into the finals, after defeating Shoalhaven United 2-nil at Lyrebird Park.

Strikes from Ryan Wiggins (19^th minute) and Oliver Boserio (86^th minute) secured the Brumbies the win - moving them onto 10 points alongside Milton.

The final match of the round saw Culburra record their first win of the campaign by defeating Illaroo 2-1.

At Culburra Oval, the Roos opened the scoring through Trent Bray before a second-half brace by Mitch Blundell sealed the Cougars all three points.

Next Saturday's makeup round - replacing the washed out round six - marks the final weekend of the regular season.

The round, which is sure to have huge finals ramifications, sees Huskisson host Culburra, Milton take on Bomaderry, United battle minor premiers Basin, Illaroo lock horns with Callala and Sussex entertain the Heads.
