The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for damaging winds which are expected to hit the South Coast on Wednesday evening, August 19.

The damaging winds are expected to average at 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts in excess of 90 km/h.
Wind gusts should effect western parts of NSW during Wednesday, August 19 and eastern NSW in the evening.

Locations which may be affected include Newcastle, Gosford, Wollongong, Nowra, Batemans Bay, Ulladulla, Goulburn, Cobar and Broken Hill.
Windy and cold conditions are expected in NSW and the ACT in the second half the week.
The coldest weather is expected over the weekend with many temperatures possibly 4-8 degrees below average.
The State Emergency Service advised people to move vehicles under cover or away from trees and secure or put away loose items around their house, yard and balcony.
Keep at least 8 metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences.
Trees that have been damaged by fire are likely to be more unstable and more likely to fall.
