GEOFF Gibbs' Bomaderry Tigers suffered their first defeat of the 2020 AFL South Coast women's premier division season on Saturday, losing to the Wollongong Saints at the Nowra Showground.

In wet conditions, the visitors kicked seven goals to one, to run out winners 7.13-55 to 1.0-6 - thanks for majors from Laura Donnelly (two), Jennifer Stanton, Caitlin Williams, Rebecca Howe, Ashleigh Anderson and Claudia Flynn.
Jaimi-Lee Gibbs was the lone goal-kicker for the hosts.
Despite the loss, Rose Hughes, Rhianna Nelson, Grace Hughes, India Patmore, Brooke Swankie and Alannah Forde did all they could for the black and golds.
Bomaderry's men's sides didn't fair any better, both going down to the Figtree Kangaroos.
In the premier men's clash, the Tigers lost 8.25-73 to 0.2-2, even though Matt Barnes' side had strong performances from Courtney Ward, Charlie Rodden, Adriaan Toms, Blake Munilla, James Phillips and Max Hughes.
While in division one, Bomaderry was no match for the Kangaroos, losing 12.9-81 to 1.0-6.
In the same men's division, Nowra-Albatross thumped Wollongong Lions 15.14-104 to 0.2-2 at North Dalton Park.
