Integrity Real Estate director Peter Russell said he was happy with the result but not surprised the four-bedroom, two-bathroom home at 42 Banool Circuit, Bomaderry reached a record price.
"I have always said this was the best home I've had the honour of selling in Bomaderry in 25 years," he said.
"It was deserving of the price it reached.
"I was confident it would break the $1 million mark but was pleasantly surprised by the final outcome."
He said it sets a new "all time record for the Bomaderry area".
"I don't know of another home, deemed residential, that has broken the $1 million price range in Bomaderry," he said.
Mr Russell said bidding started at $800,000 and quickly rose past $1 million.
"It quickly blew past the reserve of $925,000," he said.
"The previous owners built the home around five and a half years ago."
Positioned in the dress circle location of Banool Circuit, the home has all the creature comforts of a beautiful family home and with panoramic views to the north towards Berry, the property is described as "something special".
Offering four large bedrooms plus home office, with north facing living areas utilising its amazing views and includes a theatre room and a magnificent kitchen.
Architecturally designed by Michele Stevens, the home was built by local master builders Jamieson Building and Constructions, of Bomaderry. The home was also featured on James Hardie's website.
Mr Russell said the sale is good news for the local real estate market.
"It says Sydney is on the move," he said.
"COVID has sped up the process. The South Coast has been undervalued for many years and finally buyers are seeing the potential of the Nowra area and not just our northern neighbours or those looking for a tree change or sea change at any of our seaside villages."
The property has been bought by a Shoalhaven couple, looking to retire.
