Bomaderry Lions president Bob Mortyn said the incident inspired to club to purchase a vehicle as a replacement - and on Monday, they were successful.
"St John Ambulance and Bomaderry Lions were side by side during the Nowra Show," Mr Mortyn said.
"A furious wind blew and destroyed St John's shelter.
"After several attempts to gain assistance, Bomaderry Lions were successful in obtaining a grant through the state government's Community Building Partnerships Program, thanks to our local MP Gareth Ward."
A decomissioned NSW Ambulance was purchased earlier this year, and St John volunteers have been busy fitting the vehicle out, however, it has already been able to be used at several community events.
On Monday, Gareth Ward MP announced $25,000 funding to the Lions Club of Bomaderry Inc towards the purchase.
Mr Mortyn said he is very proud of how Bomaderry Lions have rallied, with such an excellent result.
"The grant paid for most of the vehicle, with Bomaderry Lions finishing off the vehicle to St John's requirements," Mr Mortyn said.
Senior Officer of St John Shoalhaven Dr Phill Newlyn says he was very happy with the vehicle, and it will serve the people of the Shoalhaven for years to come.
Gareth Ward congratulated Bomaderry Lions and St John for their successful application of the grant, and thanked both Lions and St John for their hard work in the community.
Pictures of the hand-over of the vehicle include Gareth Ward member of Kiama, Dr Phill Newlyn Senior Officer of St John, Michael Shanahan Treasurer of Bomaderry Lions whilst the vehicle was being obtained, Gloria Parkes one of Bomaderry Lion's Vice Presidents, along with Bob Mortyn President of Bomaderry Lions.
