Instead Phillip Kandarakis, 55, of Browns Mountain, north-west of Nowra, was placed on a 15-month intensive corrections order, meaning he can serve his sentence in the community,
Magistrate Gabriel Fleming also ordered he perform 150 hours of community service and fined him $2000.
In Nowra Local Court on Tuesday, August 4, Kandarakis pleaded guilty to two counts of supplying a prohibited drug, dealing with property suspected of being proceeds of crime and possessing an unauthorised firearm.
Court papers said Kandarakis was arrested in Berry between 10.40pm and 11.15pm on October 3, 2019, allegedly with 73.9 grams of cocaine, 6.079 grams of heroin and $1900 cash.
Police formed Strike Force Adnamira investigating prohibited drugs in the area and stopped Kandarakis at the intersection of Mullers Lane and the Princes Highway as part of that operation.
During a search police allegedly noticed an "unusual" bulge in his crotch area but he denied concealing anything.
Police allegedly found a plastic bag containing white powder, protruding from behind his testicles.
Testing later revealed the powder to be cocaine and heroin.
They also found $1900 in the back pocket of his pants.
The court heard in January last year, during a firearms prohibition order check carried out on his property police found a side by side double barrel shotgun he was not authorised to have.
