Police have confirmed the driver of the Mitsubishi Pajero, killed in the accident was a 28-year-old Nowra man.
Emergency services were called to Culburra Road, Wollumboola, about 2.5km west of the Culburra township around 7.20am on July 28 following reports of what has been described as "a horrific crash".
Police said the man was travelling west on Culburra Road in the 4WD, when it crossed to the incorrect side of the road and collided head-on with a small Isuzu tipper.
Despite efforts of witnesses and emergency services the male driver died at the scene.

The truck driver, a 25-year-old man from South Nowra, sustained arm injuries and was transported by ambulance to Wollongong Hospital for treatment.
The road was closed until around 12.45pm as crash investigators completed investigations into the accident.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
