On Monday, the World Surf League (WSL) unveiled it nominees for the 2020 Red Bull Big Wave Awards (BWA) - marking the 20th anniversary of the event.
Over the next five weeks, BWA will present the men's and women's winners of each of their four divisions, including Ride of the Year, Biggest Wave, Biggest Paddle Award and Best Overall Performer of the Year.
The BWA will also honour the Wipeout of the Year winner in the first fan-voted category.
Former Ulladulla High School student Bierke has been shortlisted for Biggest Paddle Award, Best Overall, Best Overall Performer of the Year and Ride of the Year.
In the Biggest Paddler Award, Bierke's ride at Hawaii's Jaws on December 12 has seen him nominated against Nathan Florence, Billy Kemper, Eli Olson and Ian Walsh - who are all from Hawaii.
The Ulladulla Boardrider is one of 10 athletes in the running of the Best Overall Performer of the Year category, alongside Hawaii's Nathan Florence, Billy Kemper, Kai Lenny, Eli Olson and Ian Walsh, South Africa's Grant Baker, Brazil's Lucas Chianca, United Kingdom's Tom Lowe and Portugal's Nic Von Rupp.
Finally, Bierke's effort on December 12 at Jaws has put him on contention for the Ride of the Year award, alongside Hawaiian trio Eli Olson, Billy Kemper and Kai Lenny, as well as UK's Tom Lowe.
