The back-rower is set to be punished for a recent run of charges, with loading for previous incidents contributing to a one-game suspension.
This will be Sims' third suspension in the past two seasons.
An early guilty plea will not reduce the punishment, with Sims to also serve one week should he fight and lose at the judiciary.
At this stage, the Dragons look set to take the early plea.
Sims' left edge partner Euan Aitken was also cited in the win over the Bulldogs, the centre receiving a grade one dangerous contact charge for a crusher tackle on Canterbury captain Josh Jackson in the 38th minute.
With a clean record, the Shellharbour Sharks product will be free to play next week if he takes the early guilty plea.
Aitken is also expected to plead guilty, rather than risk a suspension by fighting the charge.
