Police are appealing for dash-cam vision after a young cyclist was critically injured in a crash with a utility in Nowra at the weekend.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Bridge Road and the Princes Highway after a white Isuzu D-Max utility, travelling south on the Princes Highway, collided with a BMX rider about 3.10pm on Sunday.
It is understood the boy was attempting to cross the road on his bike when he was struck by the ute.
The rider, a 15-year-old boy, suffered serious head and chest injuries and was airlifted to The Children's Hospital at Westmead, where he remains in a critical condition.
A helmet was found at the scene, but it is not known if it was fitted properly.
The driver of the ute, a 40-year-old man, was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
As inquiries continue, police from the Southern Region Crash Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses to the accident to come forward.
