Stop the marketing and get real
Businesses are doing it hard, very hard, not only here in the Shoalhaven but almost everywhere as well. So support locals! On the other hand, consider this. Is it not amazing in 2020, politicians don hard hats, and fluoro vests hold a shovel lift a few milligrams of dirt to celebrate an occasion that has been paid for by hard working aussies. eg a new bridge etc?

Nothing has changed over the years, basically marketing for free mention in the news, let's get reelected. Basically, a "look at me, look at me" approach.
Gee, there must be a politician's book on this free marketing. Change to something real, consider a person on methadone, opioids, a person that drives a car daily that can kill you and your family.
Consider also a person with cancer or muliple sclerosis etc who has legally or otherwise cannabis oil and has better outcomes.
Who gets charged and loses their license and gets a fine after a roadside test?
No, not the one on opioids or substitutes, rather the cancer patient or MS patient who is not affected by cannabis oil.
The law is an ass and politicians need to stop playing the marketing game and be doing their job, not worrying as usual about being re elected.
Like all matters, it is a matter of priorities and unfortunately many politicians, do not listen or act in the interests of their people.

Black graves matter too
Respect is part of the healing process which will help to 'close the gap'.
Disrespect does the opposite.
If the Huskisson church site was a white burial ground this proposal would not exist. Black lives and graves matter.
Please could the Anglican Church, SCC and the prospective developer show respect and abandon this grab for money.

Administrator needed urgently
What there really needs to be within Shoalhaven City Council is a majority of genuine representatives supporting the communities they were elected to represent, rather than political or vested interests.
You only need listen to the live meeting webcasts to see how really important policies such as the environment, sea level rise and sound urban planning are being undermined by the conservative bloc.
The undignified general behaviour and constant unsolicited sniping at the Greens is a disgrace.
To my mind, the Greens are the only decent, thoughtful people at the table.
What is urgently needed in this dysfunctional climate is a state government appointed administrator to implement an immediate return to effective, objective, sustainable and consistent governance until the next elections.
To ensure sound and proper decision making, an independent expert local planning panel appointed for determination of contentious development is also essential.
The many inexplicable, dubious development decisions made by this council and its planning staff will be a blight on the Shoalhaven community and its environment for many decades to come.
It is time to divest this community of the rusted-on incumbent conservative councillors and let some new people with broader, more balanced interests have a go.

Council is not doing its job
The Princes Highway upgrade work progress is too slow.
Parks and riverside picnic areas in Nowra are a disgrace, no trees or picnic facilities and poor maintenance of lawns and rivers.
Streets near Lyrebird park are littered with abandoned furniture by unit renters.
Lyrebird Park is bare, poorly lit and water-logged in rainy weather.
Mr Ward is right, the council is not doing its job properly.
