A man has been charged after allegedly throwing contraband into a correctional facility on the state's South Coast.

On Monday, June 29 a 46-year-old man was driving away from a correctional facility, when he allegedly threw a paper bag containing tobacco into the rear of the premises.
The incident was reported to South Coast Police District and inquiries commenced.
Police say they stopped the vehicle on Central Avenue, South Nowra, a short time later.
"A 46-year-old man, who is currently disqualified from driving until May 2021, was arrested and taken to Nowra Police Station," a NSW Police spokesperson said.
"He was charged with drive motor vehicle during disqualification period and unlawfully bring anything into place of detention."
He was refused bail and is due to face Nowra Local Court on Friday 3 July 2020.
