Due to the coronavirus pandemic and therefore, less junior sports activity being played, the trust's committee decided to not hand out grants this year.
"With the current COVID-19 health crisis and the vastly reduced activity in junior sport, the trust committee has decided that it is appropriate to suspend the Bernie Regan Memorial Sporting Trust Grants for 2020," a committee member said in a statement.
"We want to make sure the grant allocations from the trust are meaningful and look forward to the resumption of sport in the future."
In 2019, the trust, which has handed out more than $370,000 in grants to over 100 Shoalhaven athletes during the past 35 years, recognised the efforts of Jasmine Greenwood (swimming), Karlee Symonds (athletics), Sam Wright-Smith (hockey), Tara Rudd (cricket), Lara Check (athletics), Koby Hantis (motocross), Olivia Greenhalgh (athletics), Aroha Spillane (rugby union) and Freya Robinson-Mills (cycling).
