The Hyundai Excel, which was being driven by a male, who had a female passenger, hit the front corner of the fountain/pond area around 11am on Monday, June 29.
The historic sandstone structure suffered some minor damage to the front corner, with a large piece of sandstone edging broken.
But the car certainly came off second best, suffering significant front end damage
The male driver walked to the nearby Shoalhaven District Hospital emergency department, presenting with an arm injury.
The 27-year-old female passenger was treated at the scene by a registered nurse from the hospital who stopped to help while on her way to work.
She suffered abrasions to her nose and headache and was visibly upset by the incident.
NSW Ambulance Paramedics attended the scene in the Shoalhaven rescue truck, with a back-up ambulance called from Kangaroo Valley.
With the hospital within sight the nurse transported the women to the ED.
It's not the first time the memorial has suffered traffic damage.
Back in August 2017 the southern entry was sideswiped by a car, leaving scrape marks and glass embedded in the sandstone.
A garbage truck also hit and damaged the southern entry arch in the late '80s causing significant damage.
