Kangaroo Valley resident John Sinclair has submitted a development application to Shoalhaven City Council for a telecommunications facility at 129A Tourist Road, Beaumont.
The proposed structure will include a private power pole and meter box, a network cabinet and three four-metre high antenna poles, topped with satellite dishes.
In 2018 Mr Sinclair, who runs an internet service provider, said the NBN caused more harm than good in the village.

The solution to a community frustrated with bad internet connections seemed simple to Mr Sinclair- build a broadband network specifically for Kangaroo Valley residents.
With the help of friend and resident Peter Botsman, he successfully crowd-funded $120, 000, with the aim of creating the Kangaroo Valley Broadband Network.
Contributors to the crowd-funding campaign were essentially pre-purchasing their connection to the network.
Mr Sinclair also applied for a government grant to support the installation and in December 2019, the NSW Government announced the Connecting Country Communities Fund (CCCF) would support the KVBN to deliver the service.
