Those who choose to pursue vocational training are recognised by the Shoalhaven Schools Excellence in Vocational Education Awards.

Run by Shoalhaven Workplace Learning, the awards are open to any student who has achieved excellence in their area.

The awards showcase the many talented HSC students the region is producing.

Teacher Leone Frank said students had to be nominated before undergoing an interview process. Those who received an award had demonstrated an "outstanding" standard of work.

"They are highly focussed, they go above and beyond at school and in their work placements, and get good feedback from their work placement," she said.

Due to the current situation with COVID-19 the 2020 Shoalhaven Schools Excellence in Vocational Education and Training Awards were scaled back to an online process.

Unfortunately there was no award function this year.
