The pair's first win of the seven-race program came in the 1600m class one maiden plate with three-year-old gelding Momack.
With jockey Keagan Latham on board, Momack won by 1.3 lengths from Mark Newnham's Somnus.
This trainer and jockey combination then backed it up in the very next race (1200m maiden handicap) with Love Tap.
The two-year-old gelding held off Richard Butler's Are Zhu Ready by 0.4 lengths for line honours.
Newnham didn't go home empty-handed though, winning the first race (1100m maiden plate) at the Archer Racecourse on the day - edging out Mike Van Gestel's Titan Star by 0.8 lengths.
Former Nowra-based trainers Robert and Luke Price also claimed a win on the day, taking out the 1400m benchmark 58 handicap with Noble Belle.
In a tight finish, Noble Belle, ridden by Madison Waters, beat Mike Cattell Alqaab to the line by 0.3 lengths.
Also on the day, the 1000m benchmark 58 handicap was easily won by Joseph Pride's De Grawin, finishing 2.5 lengths in front of Peter Korn's Byblos Boy.
Soon after, Jaime Stewart's Mr Magical stormed to victory in the 100m class one handicap, with Nick Olive's Proud Mia crossing the line in second.
The other trainer to claim a win on the day was Amanda Turner, who's Mr Cantankerous raced to first in the 1400m maiden plate, ahead of Jarrod Austin's Rosadiblu.
