Booderee National Park is jointly managed by the Commonwealth Government and Traditional Owners.
While some easing of restrictions has taken place in NSW this week, Booderee National Park remains closed to protect staff and residents while arrangements are finalised to safely welcome visitors back to the park in a few weeks' time.
Director of National Parks James Findlay said that while Parks Australia staff were looking forward to welcoming visitors back to the park soon, it is essential that the safety of visitors, staff and members of the local community remains the highest priority.
"Booderee is a beautiful spot and the park manager and all our staff are all really looking forward to welcoming everyone back to the park soon but we need a bit more time to make sure that risks to visitors, staff and the local community can be minimised when the park is reopened," Dr Findlay said.
"Booderee National Park is home to a vulnerable community and we are taking a careful and considered approach to reopening the park."
Preparations for the park to reopen on June 23, 2020 are continuing.
