Emergency services were called to Shoalhaven Zoo on Friday after keeper Jennifer Brown was found injured and unconscious in the lion enclosure. Officers said the scene was harrowing as they pulled the woman to safety and stabilised her before she was airlifted to St George Hospital.

It's not the first time the zoo has seen staff members injured by animals. In 2014, a man was attacked by a crocodile in front of a horrified crowd gathered to watch the animal being fed.
In happier news this week, we were delighted to hear of the developer's plans for the old Spotlight Building in Nowra. Recognising its historical signifance, he plans to restore the buiding to its former glory. It will do wonders for the CBD.
And amid all the gloom about COVID-19 and the economy, it was heartening to see the local property market still setting records.
