Not another Batemans Bay
No, no, no. This is the development ('$32m motel and apartment complex plan for Huskisson'), if approved, that will open the door to turn Jervis Bay into Batemans Bay.

I am all for progress but this is not a small step; it is a massive step that will change our town overnight and open the floodgates to developers.
This is outside the acceptable limits. The next one will be further outside the limits. Sooner or later the acceptable limits are unrecognisable.

Husikisson motel a terrible idea
This is a terrible idea ('$32m motel and apartment complex plan for Huskisson'). There are so many upgrades and further infrastructure that this town needs before a complex like this. Definitely not something I would like to see approved.
Speak to the residents of the town before making decisions on our behalf.

Upmarket project needed
Huskisson badly needs an upmarket hotel ('$32m motel and apartment complex plan for Huskisson'). Peppers group or similar standard would be good.

No benefit to village
How sad yet more multi-storey development ('$32m motel and apartment complex plan for Huskisson') destroying the character of the village of Huskisson for whose gain other than the developers? Certainly not the residents of Huskisson village.

I'll have to move again
If this proposal is approved ('$32m motel and apartment complex plan for Huskisson') then Husky won't any more be the place I moved to seven years ago from Sydney and I will have to move again.
J. Bruck, Huskisson
Motel would be welcomed
The plan ('$32m motel and apartment complex plan for Huskisson') sounds great. I think it will make a huge impact in this area, especially for small business owners. And having more available parking would be great also.
I would love to see some clothing shops and spaces that can potentially be rented for people who may want to open up a business or shop of their own.

Unsustainable development
The current level of development ('$32m motel and apartment complex plan for Huskisson') that is continually being pushed on Huskisson is unsustainable. The village character is being destroyed by higher density buildings. There are other areas of the bay like Callalla that could be improved for tourists and would benefit the locals. Huskisson is already stretched during summer months. This development at Moona Creek and the the one on Duncan St will clock traffic that is already difficult to manage during these periods. I ask that all councillors please take this into consideration and not allow the very fabric of our village to be destroyed.
M. Verdugo, Huskisson
Commercial progress overdue
I think further commercial development in Vincentia/Huskisson region is long overdue. I am amazed that development has not been encouraged previously. Shoalhaven Council has stymied many potential developments for this precinct.
This proposed development would in turn provide employment opportunities for people in the area and enable the township to flourish.
The time is right for more people to be introduced to the area with more housing, shops and industry for this growing region.
