Don't think taking to the water is an escape from the law - South Coast Police have charged a man with drug offences after allegedly finding 200g of cannabis on his boat.

In a media release, police said at about 12pm on Thursday, May 14, officers were patrolling the St Georges Basin area.
"They allegedly observed drug paraphernalia on board a boat and a strong smell of cannabis," the release said.
"During a search of the vessel, police allegedly located and seized more than 200g of cannabis contained within a coffee tin and shopping bag.
"The driver of the vessel, a 64-year-old man, was arrested and charged with possess prohibited drug."
The man is scheduled to face Nowra Local Court on Monday, August 10.
Officer in Charge of Bay and Basin Police Station, Acting Inspector Luke Geradts said police will continue to target crimes within the community, no matter where they are occurring.
"This seizure illustrates the fact that police are out there every day proactively patrolling the local area," Acting Inspector Geradts said.
"We would like to remind the community that, we could be anywhere at any time, on land or on water."
