The four-year-old finished 11th in the race that was won by Irish Songs, Miss Scorcher having led the field into the straight.
The contest was her fifth run of a busy Autumn campaign that included an unsuccessful bid to contest the Provincial Championships final.
Conjola-based trainer Murray holds high hopes for Miss Scorcher's future and said she had earned a break.
"Through the Provincial Championships heats she travelled to Newcastle, Gosford and Wyong, now Wagga twice," Murray said.
"It takes it out of them.
"I'll give her a month or six weeks off, she deserves it.
"We'll do a bit of winter racing once she's back.
"We'll head back into town, she's a city-class horse.
"I've got nothing firm mapped out for her yet.
"I've got a city horse on my hands - I'll send her to the farm and keep her happy."
