With the virus forcing the shutdown of all community rugby union across the country, the May competitions were initially postponed, before they were were officially called off.
Kiama had been set to host the under 16 girls, under 18 girls and under 18 boys age groups.
The NSW Combined High School Championships were also slated to be held in the region in May and have been cancelled.
With the events off, Kiama Junior Rugby Union president Ryan McIlwaine said his club is hopeful the agreements will simply be pushed back by 12 months.
"It's pretty disappointing for all involved," McIlwaine said.
"After all the hard work we put in to get them, it's disappointing, but you can't help these things.
"We have to put health over football.
"We certainly will be talking to NSW Country Rugby Union about next year.
It's very uncertain times but I hope they'll say the 2020 hosts will get it in 2021. Hopefully we're back playing football by then."
The region's rugby competitions remain in flux, with Rugby Australia suspending all community activities until June 1 at the earliest.
The senior grades are scheduled to commence on June 28.
The teams will play each other once, with a four-team finals series to follow.
A timetable for the junior competitions is yet to be determined, with plans to be formulated next month.
