Member for South Coast Shelley Hancock praised Manildra and Nowchem for boosting their production capacity to fight COVID-19.
"With the world running short on hand sanitiser, hand wash soap, and protective equipment, the NSW Government has issued a call to arms for NSW manufacturers to look at ways to convert production lines into making the items we so desperately need," Mrs Hancock said.
"It's wonderful to see local companies like Manildra and Nowchem taking up the challenge and working with us to fill the short supply.
"Importantly, this will not only help our fight against COVID-19, but create local jobs for the South Coast community."
The supply of PPE and disinfectant is expected to be constrained for the next 12 months and the NSW Government needs more manufactures and supplies.
"I encourage more local businesses who can build parts or supply urgently needed items to sign up using the online portal for companies," Mrs Hancock said.
