The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District has moved to implement further restrictions on hospital visitors, to help contain the spread of COVID-19.

As of Tuesday, March 31 patients at general wards will only be allowed one visitor per day for no more than one hour. Visitors are only permitted between 11am to 12pm and 4pm to 5pm.
There is strictly no visitors for any patient in a COVID-19 ward, COVID-19 ICU or where test results are pending.

"We are working to make iPads available so technology including Skype and Facetime may be used in lieu of physical visits," the health district said in a statement.
For end of life patents with COVID-19, visitors will be allowed but are required to wear personal protective equipment.
There are no visitor restrictions for non-COVID end of life patents.
The are also exceptions in place paediatrics (children's ward) and maternity, patients will be allowed one support person with no time restrictions.
Visitors with a physical or cognitive impairment will be considered on a case by case basis by the nursing team.
The health district also reminded the community that you should not be visiting patients in hospital if you have a fever or a cold and flu-like illness, have been overseas in the last 14 days or have been in contact in the last 14 days with anyone who has COVID-19.
