Things have certainly changed rapidly over the last few days. Restaurants and gyms that were bustling are now having to close up for a time.

So while it may be difficult to get our hands on some of our favourite products at the moment, there are wonderful ways you can support all our local businesses without stepping outside of your home.

Online shopping is offered by most businesses these days. Many businesses are offering discounts online or telling customers how they can support them.

You can browse at your leisure for that special something you have had your eye on, or even purchase a gift certificate for the future, when trading is back to some sort of normality.

In a lot of cases you can order over the phone or have catalogues and information emailed or mailed to you.

Many businesses are responding quickly and creatively to the current climate to be able to offer their services remotely or ship out goods.

All of our local retailers and services need your help, so change the way you shop with them by going online for a bit of retail therapy.

It is perhaps even worth delving even deeper into social media and giving them a shout out on Facebook, Instagram or Tripadvisor.

Order your meals as well and get everything you need sent to your door.

Although this is a time when much feels outside of our control, there are things we can do to help local businesses survive.
