AN EXCELLENT performance from fullback Tom Trbojevic has inspired the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, featuring Gerringong's Reuben Garrick, to a 9-8 victory over the Sydney Roosters on Saturday.

Played at Leichhardt Oval, after being relocated from Gosford's Central Coast Stadium, the Roosters opened proceedings with a penalty goal in front of the posts to halfback Kyle Flanagan, making it 2-nil after as many minutes.
Sea Eagles winger Garrick levelled the scores (2-all) five minutes later after Mitchell Aubusson was penalised for being offside.
Manly took their first lead of the match in the 13th minute when Tom Trbojevic ran off an inside ball from halfback Daly Cherry-Evans, to score out wide.

Garrick failed to convert the try and the Sea Eagles led 6-2.
The Roosters then had two tries disallowed, firstly through Victor Radley and then Mitch Aubusson, before Tom Trbojevic pulled off a try-saving tackle on his opposite number James Tedesco.
The Roosters drew level in the 29th minute when Luke Keary threw a floating cut out pass for winger Daniel Tupou to score out wide.
Flanagan missed the conversion, as the scoreline remained 6-all.
Trbojevic then pulled off two more try-saving tackles, the first when he knocked the arm down of Keary before taking winger Brett Morris (from Kiama) down short of the line.
Manly took an 8-6 lead when Garrick converted a penalty goal in front of the posts with 16 minutes remaining before Flanagan levelled things up (8-all) from 32 metres out soon after.
Keary then had a field goal attempt with six minutes remaining, before Cherry-Evans landed a field goal from 20 metres out to give Manly the 9-8 victory.
