This amazing form, which saw Maddinson play for Australia A in February, helped the 28-year-old finish the season as the Sheffield Shield's leading run-scorer for the 2019/20 campaign.
Maddinson's 780 runs, at an average of 86.67, saw him finish just ahead of South Australia's Tom Cooper (765), Western Australia's Shaun Marsh (724), Western Australia's Cameron Green (699) and NSW's Daniel Hughes (665).

This is made even more impressive by the fact that Maddinson, who as played three Tests for Australia, who had significantly fewer innings' (10) than all of those other batsmen - Cooper (15), Marsh (17), Green (15) and Hughes (18).
On top of that, the blazing left-hand batsman hit 23 sixes this season - with only one other, Cooper (16), managing double digits.
