The hosts kicked two opening quarter goals to none to lead 12-nil at the first break.
Collier's goal closed the margin temporarily before the Demons held an 11-point lead at half-time.
That lead quickly grew to 43 points by three-quarter-time, before the Demons won by 59 points - as the Eagles didn't register a score after the break.
"I thought our midfield flew the flag from the front, but we didn't end up putting in a four-quarter performance," West Coast coach Luke Dwyer said post-match.
West Coast, now 1-4 on the season, will be looking to bounce back at home against Gold Coast at 5.10pm (AEST) on Sunday.
