Although she's not a big fan of running or cycling, Heather is lacing up her joggers to walk 100 kilometres to raise awareness about the disease - and her daughter Ellie will be joining her.
The two will travel to Tuscany for the adventure. The team they are part of aims to raise $70,000 for research, in addition to knocking out the 100-kilometre walk in nine days.
"MS slowly took away Nana's ability to do normal functions," Mrs Luke said.
"When she passed away, her body was donated for research to help better treatments and one day find a cure.
"There are now several treatment options available that were not around when Nana was diagnosed.
"The trek is on her birthday, so I thought it would be a nice way to remember her and her contribution."
