In particular, Bomaderry High School alumnus Mitch Cunningham shone, taking out the ultimate solo men's event in a time of 3:53:50.

After coming out the water first (in a time of 23:21), Cunningham never looked back and clocked a 2:11:31 in the bike and 1:16:34 in the run, to take line honours.

He finished just over two minutes ahead of Kieran Roche (3:55:58), with Henrik Goesch (3:58:10) in third.

Sam Betten (3:59:49), former winner Craig Alexander (4:01:09) and Erowal Bay's Matt Lewis (4:07:12) rounded out the top six men's finishers - with this being the latter's second race back from injury.

In the women's ultimate division, Sarah Crowley crossed the line in first place - clocking splits of 26:23 (swim), 2:26:27 (bike) and 1:25:37 (run) for an overall time of 4:21:26.

Her extraordinary time was nearly 20 minutes in front of silver medallist Moya Johansson (4:39:36) - with Angela Ballerini (4:46:12) in third.

There were a number of other events from Friday to Sunday, including the aquabike solo section - with Richard Hobson (2:56:08) and Emma Wright (3:16:54) taking out the men's and women's section respectively.

While Travis Shields (2:31:59) and Nicole Ward (2:47:49) took out the men's and women's classic solo race.

In the solo sprint events, Peter Loveridge (men's) and Grace Kells (women's) dominated, to win in times of 1:03:17 and 1:13:02 respectively.

The men's solo super sprint was won by Luke McLean (24:57), as Grace Henry (28:17) edged out Shoalhaven's Freya Robinson-Mills (29:10) for the women's title.

In the longest form Aquathon (1km-5km), James Parkes (36:39) and Sarah Crowley (33:42) excelled - to win the respective men's and women's categories.

Finally, the men's ocean swim was taken out by Kieran Roche (12:59), with Grace Henry (13:58) finishing first in the women's division.
