At the tender age of 17, Sullivan achieved this goal on Saturday, when she made Super W debut off the bench for the ACT Brumbies in their 29-10 win against RugbyWA.
"I found out [I was in the team] on Wednesday, just before we started training," Sullivan said.
"We had a team talk and the coach named the squad of 23 - which included me.
"I was a little shocked but extremely happy and just smiled a lot as I couldn't believe that it was actually happening."
Before kick-off at Canberra's GIO Stadium, the former Ulladulla High School student was one of 11 debutants presented their maiden jerseys - with Sullivan's given to her by her mother Lisa Elmas.
"I found it very humbling to be able to have the opportunity to wear the jersey and to get to wear it in front of my friends and family meant the world to me," she said.
"It was such an incredible opportunity and it just showed that all the hard work was paying off."
After sitting on the sidelines for more than 60 minutes, flanker Sullivan was told to warm-up ahead of going onto the field for her debut appearance.
"My coaches just told me to do what I normally do and tackle," she said.
"I listened to their instructions and made sure I worked on what they wanted me to during my time on the field.
"Overall though, I think I played well - there's always room for improvement but the experience as a whole was amazing and I loved every second of it.
"It was a great feeling to get the win on my debut and to do it with such a great bunch of girls was even better."
The whole experience has the former Milton-Ulladulla Bulldog keen on adding more caps to her tally - as well as a spot in the starting side.
"I'd love to keep getting more game time and obviously a starting jersey," she said.
"Until then though, I'm just going to keep working hard at training and to try to improve every week - hopefully, that gets me where I want to be."
