A 40-year-old North Nowra man is expected to be charged by police after allegedly assaulting another man with a metal tyre iron on Friday afternoon.

Police were called to Bridge Road, Nowra around 1pm after reports of two men fighting.
Police said the two men are known to each other and it appears the incident stems from an ongoing dispute over a relationship.
Police said the men were driving separate cars along Bridge Road, when one allegedly signalled the other to stop.
Witnesses have told police the men got out of their cars and an altercation started.
It is alleged the 40-year-old man then grabbed the metal tyre lever and began striking the other man.
Members of the public intervened and managed to wrestle the weapon from the man, who then left the scene in a car.
He was arrested a short time later by South Coast Police on Illaroo Road, North Nowra and taken to the Nowra Police Station where he is assisting with inquiries.
The victim, a 34-year-old man, suffered serious facial injuries and a possible broken arm.
He was transported to Shoalhaven District Hospital by ambulance.
Police have interviewed a number of witnesses who saw the incident.

2.36pm - Man allegedly attacked with tyre iron in Nowra road rage incident
A man has been taken to hospital suffering serious facial injuries and possible broken arm after allegedly being assaulted with a tyre iron in Bridge Road, Nowra on Friday afternoon.
Full details of the incident are yet to be released by police but it is understood the injured man was assaulted while inside his car, by another male, allegedly armed with the metal tyre iron.
The incident happened in Bridge Road, adjacent to the Shoalhaven City Council administrative building and Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre precinct.
It is understood the alleged assailant left the scene in a motor vehicle and after a short pursuit was arrested by South Coast Police on Illaroo Road, North Nowra.
He has been taken to Nowra Police Station, while the injured man has been taken to Shoalhaven District Hospital by ambulance.
A crime scene has been established, with a forensic officer processing and photographing the scene.
A tyre iron and other objects are strewn nearby on the footpath.
Traffic has been reduced in the area and is being directed around the injured man's car which remains in the middle of the northbound lane.
