Ringmaster John Bennett said the rain was no deterrent for the committee and the show would go ahead despite a bit of drizzle.
"The show is on, there is a bit of rain, that has never hurt anyone. It's perfect weather for a show, with a few spots here and there," he said.
"The horse events are on today, there is show jumping throughout the day and this year we shifted the heavy horses and Clydesdales to the Friday.
"The mini horses are on at the minute, we have the Australian stock horses. We've had the best number of entries we've seen in years because people just haven't been able to get their horses out."
John said the rodeo on Friday night would go ahead.
"We will make a call on that at 12pm today, but it will go ahead," he said.
"We've made arrangements to get the bulls in even if it does rain.
"Cowboys can still get on bulls in the rain."
Naturally, sideshow alley is ready for the thrill-seekers among us.
"They're all ready to go and we've got some brand new ones here this year that we haven't had before."
