The hard-working back-rower came on for the last 20 minutes of the Brumbies' Super Rugby match against the Reds in Canberra on Friday.
The home side won the match 27-24.
"It was good fun and it's always better when you win," Miller said.
The Berry product said some aspects of the Brumbies' game were "a bit scratchy" but added this was to be expected given it was the first proper match of the season.
The back-rower said he and the other bench players did their jobs.
"For us, it's about adding enthusiasm and energy when we get out there, which I thought the entire bench did," he said.
A special thing happened before kick-off.
His mother Jenny and dad John presented him with his jumper.
"I didn't even know they were down here for the game - it was a good moment," he said.
His parents, when he made his debut for the Waratahs, had to watch it on television as it was in South Africa.

Miller made the switch from the Waratahs to the Brumbies during the off-season and worked hard at pre-season training.
Getting to pull on such a famous jersey, worn by the likes of George Gregan, Stephen Larkham and David Pocock, was a proud occasion for Miller.
Miller became Brumby 224 last Friday.
The Brumbies are now preparing for another home game and they take on the Melbourne Rebels this Friday.
Miller again expects to be named on the bench.
"I would love to get a crack in the starting line up and show what I can do," Miller said.
He is taking the team-first approach and will take on whatever role the coaching staff needs.
