Only one Shoalhaven District Cricket Association first grade match was completed on Saturday as the players made their official return to the pitch.
The Ulladulla United and Bomaderry match was completed but the Berry Shoalhaven Heads versus Shoalhaven Ex-Servicemens match was called off.
The Berry Sporting Complex was deemed unsuitable to play on and the Magpies and The Army got to share the points.
United, in the meantime, hosted the Tigers at Lighthouse Oval and things did not go to plan for the home-side.
Ulladulla won the toss and decided the wicket might play some tricks and they sent the opposition in.
The Tigers' strong batting line up did well and its 9/196 was always going to be hard to chase.
United pushed hard but could only respond with 8/124.
Bomaderry's top-order batsmen Daniel Bryant and Matt Hiriart made sure the Tigers posted what would be a match-winning total.
Bryant started the 2020 chapter of the season off with a half-century, while Hiriart made a vital contribution with the bat.
Bryant came in at number four and top-scored with 53 runs.
Hiriart had the key first drop batting role and he made 43 runs.
Michael Coulter, 23, Ben Lahene, 16 runs, and Jono Clack, 14 runs, helped pump up Bomaderry's score.
Terry Dorrell had a great day out with the ball for United and picked up a four-wicket haul.
Jayden Granger was also on target for Ulladulla and he grabbed two wickets.
Ulladulla's run chase did not start well when Dorrell was sent back to the pavilion for a duck and at 1/0 things did not look good.
Star batsman Conrad Greenshields responded with aggression.
Greenshields belted five boundaries on his way to making 39 runs for United.
The key Ulladulla batsman then took on Coulter and lost.
Coulter deceived Greenshields and wicketkeeper Kurt Quinlin did the rest by taking off the bails.
Matthew Shea and Robert Saker came in later in the order for United and both were in aggressive moods.
Shea's 25 runs included four boundaries, while Saker smashed two maximums and boundary on his way to making 19 runs.
Coulter capped off a strong match by taking two wickets and key new ball bowler Stu Jeffery added two more victims to his ever-increasing wicket-taking haul.
