Brigade members decided to stage an event on Saturday, January 25 so they could meet the community.
The community, in turn, will be able to put names to the faces of the people they see fighting fires and driving around in fire-trucks.
The event, at the Basin View boat-ramp, will be held from 11 am to 3 pm and people can enjoy a free sausage sizzle and drink.
There will be a free jumping castle for the children and a guessing competition with lots of cool prizes.
The Basin View brigade members, since they started fighting the devastating fires, have been overwhelmed by the community's generosity.
Community members have been regularly turning up with cakes, food and water.
One person even turned up with gingerbread fire truck treat for the members to enjoy.
Recruitment wise things are also picking up and six people have recently joined the Basin View unit
