Mr Hurley toured the streets of Conjola Park and met local residents, who welcomed his visit, before meeting more residents at Tilly and Mo and the bushfire recovery centre.
The 27th Governor General of Australia adds to a list of a high-profile visitors who have come to offer support to the area which lost 89 homes on New Year's Eve.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian, NSW Rural Fire Service Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons joined South Coast MP Shelley Hancock in a visit to the Lake Conjola community hall on Tuesday, January 14.
The hall has been made into a distribution relief centre, run by community volunteers including retired army officer Peter Dunn, who is co-ordinating recovery operations.
