Bomaderry Lions' Carols in the Park will go ahead this year on Sunday, December 15 in Harry Sawkins Park but unfortunately due to the ongoing weather conditions the fireworks display has been cancelled.
All of the fun and carols splendour will happen next to the Shoalhaven City administration building from around 6pm, with entertainment for the whole family.
Food and drinks will be available as well as the usual 'electric' candles and glow sticks.
Bomaderry Lions' president Bob Mortyn said unfortunately due to the tinder-dry conditions, the organisation had taken the "tough" decision to not hold the fireworks.
"Our rural bushfire and town fire brigades are being challenged by the horrific dry conditions, and we don't wish to add to these challenges by allowing the possibilities of any sparks igniting another fire," Mr Mortyn said.
"All the fun of carols will still be there on the 15th."
He said savings made by not having the fireworks this year would be put back into the community.
