Five Islands Outrigger Canoe Club's senior men were all smiles after taking out the 18km long distance event at the regatta, hosted by the Mollymook Outrigging Canoe Club.
The Five Islands men, who train out of Wollongong, easily won their division and also finished third overall behind two open crews.
Despite the windy conditions and big seas, the Five Islands members raced well and are a crew to watch out for in the future.
They are already eyeing off competing at the state titles next year.
Five Islands member David Grubb in his single craft OCI1 also won the senior masters short course event. It was Grubb's first regatta.
Five Islands also tasted success at Ulladulla with the open mixed crew in the 9km short course event.
The crew consisted of four newcomers to the sport and two experienced paddlers, placing third in the event.
