On Wednesday, November 27, a teams of Kiama SES volunteers travelled to Sydney's northern suburbs, which were struck by damaging thunderstorms earlier in the week.
They didn't just take willing hands, they brought specialised storm damage equipment with them.
"The team worked to clear fallen trees and repair damaged roofs alongside local NSW SES volunteers from Sydney units," an SES spokesperson said.
There were 2000 requests for assistance received following the storms, mostly in the Sydney Metropolitan area, according to the SES.
