On Tuesday, November 19, South Coast police issued four people with infringement notices and a fifth person was charged following the operation in Nowra.
As part of the joint proactive crime team operation, officers conducted seven body searches which found six people with stolen items.
On top of the four infringement notices a young person was cautioned and seven people were banned from supermarkets.
One person allegedly found with a prohibited drug was charged and will face court at a later date.
"We are sending a message to the community that no matter how big or small the crime is, we will be out in force targeting illegal activities," South Coast Police District Inspector David Cockram said.
"We have seen how devastating shoplifting can be for small businesses, and we will continue to work alongside these businesses to target those who choose to do the wrong thing."
