Firefighters are battling a blaze which has erupted in Moorhouse Park, Nowra, on the southern bank of the Shoalhaven River behind the old Riverhaven Motel.

Several Fire & Rescue appliances are on the scene, as well as a number of police vehicles.
There is a significant amount of smoke in the area and it appears a structure at the rear of the derelict motel has caught fire.
Police responded to reports of the fire at about 7am. They will conduct a full investigation and prepare a report for the coroner.
