The Trust, which has handed out more than $370,000 in grants to over 100 athletes during the past 34 years, had 23 young athletes in attendance at the Bomaderry Bowling Club event, hosted by Phil Lynch, on Friday night.

While all the athletes' achievements were phenomenal, the Trust decided to hand out nine grants.

The largest grant went to Sussex Inlet's Jasmine Greenwood, who recently won a bronze medal at the World Para Swimming Championships in London.

The other eight rising stars to receive grants were Karlee Symonds (athletics), Sam Wright-Smith (hockey), Tara Rudd (cricket), Lara Check (athletics), Koby Hantis (motocross), Olivia Greenhalgh (athletics), Aroha Spillane (rugby union) and Freya Robinson-Mills (cycling).

"The standard of athletes, especially at the high end, was exceptional, which is a real credit to all the families and athletes," Bernie Regan Memorial Sporting Trust chairman Paul Goddard said.

"At the end of the day, we are an unique organisation run by the community for the community that recognises and helps athletes achieve their goals - something we want to continue."

Other athletes in attendance were Asha Phillips (basketball), Baylee Holland (athletics), Ella Dyball (athletics/cricket/netball), Hailey D'Ombrain (athletics/gymnastics), Hannah Phillips (tennis), James Phillips (Australia Football), Keira Buckpitt (surfing), Kynan Miller (athletics), Laylah Connelly (athletics), Mason Hills (motocross), Remy Martin (basketball), Sophie Phillips (Australian Football), Stephen Pearson (baseball) and William Dyball (athletics).
