Every student will take the first of their compulsory English exams at 9:25am which runs for two and a half hours.
Over the past few weeks students throughout the Shoalhaven have been busy studying.
St John's the Evangelist students Colin Vu and Noah Lewis have been working hard to get ready for their exams and were feeling nervous but prepared.
Local high schools too have been trying their best to prepare students for the exams, which can often be a stressful time.
Both Vincentia High School and Nowra High School provided their students with survival kits in preparation.
The survival kits from schools have included goodies such as lollies, study advice, tea bags, stress balls, letters of encouragement and for Vincentia students there was even a free gym membership.
The HSC exams run across five weeks with the final exams being held on Monday, November 11.
Students will have to wait over a month for their marks though, HSC results and the ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank) will be released to students on December, 17.
